Global SmallCap manager talks to Investment Week about Greggs

Marlborough Global SmallCap Co-Manager Tobias Bucks has talked to Investment Week about high street bakery chain Greggs’ ‘stellar history of managing margins and costs’.

Tobias, who holds Greggs in the fund, expects the company to continue growing its profits.

He said new store openings would play an important role in Greggs maintaining its leading position in the food-to-go market.

Tobias added: “By closing underperforming stores and focusing on those that attract foot traffic for longer hours, through breakfast and evening trade, we expect Greggs to maximise its returns on capital.”
